Our proprietary concrete mix is high strength and very durable. Applying a seal adds to the surface being scratch or stain resistant. That being said, concrete is a stone product. It’s still possible to chip, scratch or stain. Never cut with a knife directly onto your concrete surface.
We apply multiple layers of a food safe sealer to help prevent stain to products like your concrete counters, hearths or furniture. While applying a sealer makes the concrete surface stain resistant, it’s still possible to stain just like limestone, marble or other stone surfaces. We recommend wiping up food or liquid spills right away.
Indoor concrete: clean your concrete surfaces using warm, soapy water. Wipe up spills immediately, as acidic or caustic substances like mustard, vinegar or bleach that sit on the surface for a long time can attack the surface sealer. Do not use an abrasive or chemical cleanser as this can scratch the surface or impact the seal.
Outdoor concrete: exterior concrete should be protected from winter freeze/thaw cycles as best as possible. Move pieces indoors for winter if feasible. You can also cover your piece with an impermeable sheet or raise it off the ground if possible. Concrete planters should have stones placed at the bottom before adding soil to ensure adequate drainage.
Yes. A licensed gas fitter should always be used to install concrete fire tables, concrete fire bowls or any piece connected to a gas line.
We pride ourselves on being able to work on the details with you in order to maximize design and reduce costs. We price our concrete elements by cost per square foot or linear foot and take into account variances for volume, unique design, special form requirements or custom finishes. You can use our quote form to get an idea of the cost of your project. If you decide to move forward, we ask for a 25% deposit which puts you into our production schedule and starts the final design consultation process.
We’re working hard with you to meet your timeline and will always communicate what you can expect so there are no surprises. Production times are generally 3-4 weeks.
Our custom concrete products are covered under warranty for regular use for 12 months from installation, when installed by Versatile Concrete. We’ll make sure you have all the information to properly care for your custom concrete element.

What our Customers Say
The best part for me working with Richard and his team is they're all designers as well. So from our point of view, I can come up with something creative, I can run that by Richard and he can look at that with his team. They can work on how this is going to work functionally, how we can make it work from a construction point of view. And then we go backwards and forwards on design ideas and then we come up with the best solution for a project.
Byron Douglas, ECORA Studio
We ultimately chose to work with them because they were the best in the interior. Richard's always gone out of his way. If there were problems, he would rectify them in a hurry and it's always been a pleasure working with them.
Jurgen Jakubowski (“JJ”), Mission XL Masonry
I'd highly recommend Versatile Concrete. Richard puts out an amazing product — he does some amazing stuff and comes up with the greatest ideas. I've been in his shop numerous times and I'm just blown away at the things they build there. It's truly amazing.
Jurgen Jakubowski (“JJ”), Mission XL Masonry
Ultimately the choice to work with Versatile was consistency and creativity. Really both are the same reasons we stick with them. They don't limit our creativity. They allow us to throw ideas out there and they do their best to make them work.
Shane Worman, Worman Commercial
Versatile Concrete always comes up with creative solutions and they always call us right away and let us know of an alternative to make our project better. They keep surprising us with creative thinking, ideas and thinking outside the box. Whenever we know a client or a contractor that we are working with requires that type of service then we always go to, or let them know about, Versatile Concrete.
