Concrete Masonry Close to Home

After struggling with reliability from suppliers in B.C.’s mainland, Mission XL Masonry has found the best in custom concrete and keeps it close to home with Versatile Concrete.

CLIENT Jurgen Jakubowsku ("JJ"), Mission XL Masonry

The Project

Mission XL Masonry and Versatile Concrete come together to tackle custom masonry supply like window sills, headers and concrete precast building entrances for impressive structures like 275 Lawrence Ave in Kelowna.

The Challenge

Sourcing masonry concrete from companies in the lower mainland of B.C. meant longer lead times for projects, and the distance meant problems were harder to correct.

The Outcome

Working with Versatile Concrete combines reliability, impressive craftsmanship and quick turnaround times.

The Projects

Versatile Concrete supplies Mission XL Masonry with a wide variety of handcrafted, durable masonry concrete that also creates distinctive aesthetics, like the smooth yet strong lines at 275 Lawrence Ave. in Kelowna. The concrete caps, sills and other details are a testament to the craftsmanship that Versatile Concrete and Richard Dueck are able to provide for Jurgen Jakubowski (“JJ”) and Mission XL.

When projects call for more than standard brick stock, the Versatile Concrete team is there to provide cement window sills, window and door headers, concrete caps — and just about any manner of custom masonry JJ may need, all in a high-volume proprietary concrete blend.

I'd highly recommend Versatile Concrete. Richard puts out an amazing product — he does some amazing stuff and comes up with the greatest ideas. I've been in his shop numerous times and I'm just blown away at the things they build there. It's truly amazing. Jurgen Jakubowski (“JJ”), Mission XL Masonry

The Challenge

Working with companies in the lower mainland of British Columbia, JJ found that there was a lot of lead time required for his projects. Then, if there was a problem, the supplier was too far away to help. When he discovered Versatile Concrete, there was a local solution in the B.C. interior that was able to meet his needs in custom precast concrete.

“We ultimately chose to work with them because they were the best in the interior,” says JJ. “Richard's always gone out of his way. If there were problems, he would rectify them in a hurry and it's always been a pleasure working with them.”
